Branch and Community Activities
In addition to our monthly programs, the Atascadero Branch sponsors a variety of other activities that promote social and educational opportunities for members and serve community needs.

AAUW members may choose from a variety of small groups to explore interests such as these:
Book discussion, Great Decisions, Great Courses, knitting, memoir-writing, hiking, French, Spanish, Canasta, etc. On the “Members Only” page, the interest group link provides detailed information about these groups.

Community Activities
AAUW members are involved in a wide variety of activities that support the community such as providing meals at ECHO (El Camino Homeless Organization), booths and entries at Colony Days and Winter Wonderland, Women's History Month events, candidate forums, community theatre, etc. We look for opportunities to bring more awareness to our mission of equity for women and girls.

Atascadero High School Greybots
Because some of our Tech Trek alumni have become involved in high school robotics, AAUW often provides support for the high school team to attend their annual competition. Board members determine the level of support each year.
Colony Days
The Atascadero branch of AAUW was chartered in November 1937. It was the first branch in SLO County. It's from that sense of history in the community, that we involve ourselves Atascadero’s annual celebration, Colony Days. As suffragettes at Tent City to marchers in the annual Colony Days parade, AAUW Atascadero has actively participated, often times winning awards and recognition not only for our performance but our involvement in the community as well.
